Patience Moore will be teaching a music class this summer and fall for young kids based on Buckaroos Sleep Too! at The Bees Knees, a creative arts center in Montclair, NJ that opens July 25th. STORY By “The Cowboy Girl” (Patience Moore) The seed was planted when, probably over 10 years ago, my friend Dana asked me to sing some lullabies on tape for her to play for her two young sons. She told me how hard it was for her and other parents she knew to find quality music for their kids - - that they were always looking for something the kids would enjoy and learn from but that also could stimulate the parents who were listening. It wasn’t until many years later, after I had already released one CD, that the idea of creating a CD project to fit Dana’s and other families’ needs came back into my mind and began inspiring the original songs that would become BUCKAROOS SLEEP TOO! In my never-ending search for interesting older or more obscure country tunes, I also ran across a few western swing and big band songs that were really swingin’ but also had lyrics that a child could relate to. “Hamburger Hop” jumped out at me.
