What WAS that watermelon doing there?

I’m a big fan of the "cult" movie, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension. Great cast, great script, fun movie, great action and special effects. Plus John Lithgow as the delightfully insane Lord John Whorfin. But what WAS that watermelon doing there?

I agree a terrific movie But even the DVD has nothing to explain that…It has been a question in my mind for about 20 years.

    David Beagleman explains it in his voiceover that is one of the "extras" on the DVD.

    You can rent it and listen from Netflix!
